We had our Church picnic yesterday, and it was a blast. Somewhat hot and humid to be out playing sports in pants, but definitely still a good time.
In church before that Steve reminded us that Jesus is the ONLY way to get to God - and that if we don’t accept him we are lost. It’s not about what we do, or how well we do it. It’s not about being “good” and hoping that’s enough. We can put on a show for our friends, but God knows our hearts and our thoughts, and despite our constant lack of faith and our tendency to reject him, He still chooses to love us. He chooses to accept us just as we are.
Thank you Lord, for accepting even me.
John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Well, I’m off to Arizona when I wake up. I just have to pack, and go.
I’m looking forward to it. It will be awesome to see Chip again - it’s been over a year now. I haven’t even been back to Taylor once since graduating. I guess that’s what happens when you live 17 hours away… Arizona is _much_ farther away than Taylor, so it’s a good thing I’m not driving there. I might make it back to Taylor this fall sometime though. We’ll have to see.
But right now, it’s bedtime. I can barely keep my eyes open.
For the sake of posting.
Work is work, and fun is fun, but sometimes I try to make work fun too. How’s that for a clever thought.
I’ve already had too much coffee today, so I’m getting shaky. Now I need to drink some water to wash it all away.
And now, for a moment with “Taking Back Sunday”
I’d never lie to you
Unless I had to
I’ll do what I got to
Unless I had to
I’ll do what I got to, the truth
is you could slit my throat
and with my one last gasping breath
I’d apologize for bleedin’ on your shirt
And with it new weather. All we got during the month of May was cold weather, rainy more often than not, and when it wasn’t raining the sky mocked us with its grayness. The month ended well, however, granting us sunny days and temperatures in the 70’s for most of Memorial Day weekend.
Ryan and Windy came up for Memorial Day, and we all went down to Colt St. Park for the day: grilling, baseball, frisbee, and sun. What more could you ask for on such a beautiful day??
Last night I watched Napolean Dynamite for the second time. To be honest, it wasn’t any better the second time around. There are definitely some funny parts, but overall it just makes me NEVER want to move to Idaho.
Now it’s time for me to keep getting ready for work.
