have been busy, tiring, and expensive.
Let’s start back on Friday. A bunch of people were going out to play laz-er tag, so Abby and I decided to go along. Well, until we realized it was $15 per person and we were only gonna play two games. Not worth it. So we turned around and drove the other direction - towards Providence. Got in touch with Brad, and he met us at Wild Colonial. It’s becoming something of a Friday night hangout tradition. That was a good time but Abby and I were both really tired so we headed out from there around 12:30.
Saturday morning I got up bright and early and took my car into the shop. My gas mileage has been getting worse and worse, so I figured it was time for a tune-up. I went all out on it - new fuel filter and all, puting me back in the area of $250. Ouch. This week will be the test to see if the fuel gauge stays away from empty for a few more miles. I also found out that I need a new head gasket valve cover. The estimate for that was roughly $90. Oil is leaking from the seal on the oil pan, some other fluid unknown to me is leaking from somewhere else, the resonator is almost completely rusted through (it creates a nice rumble now), and the blue-book value tells me I’m throwing my money away. Sooooo…. I’m gonna start looking for a new(er) car. As much as I would love to get a *new* car, it’s not something I can really afford yet.
Sunday was, well, the SUPERBOWL. I went over to the Morelli’s house for the festivities (along with hordes of other people), and all in all it was a good time. I mean, how could it _not_ be? The Patriots won!! The word all over the news now is DYNASTY. 3 wins in 4 years. Not too shabby. Patriot Superbowl titles sandwiching the Red Sox World Series title. It’s nice being in New England right now.
After drinking too much caffeine, I didn’t get to bed until around 1 AM after the Superbowl, and getting up at 6 AM didn’t provide much sleep. So I was tired *all* day yesterday. I mean, really dragging. Now it’s Tuesday, I went to bed around 9:15 last night (yeah!), I’m still tired, but at least it’s not Monday anymore.
Well, I need to make some phone calls, finish up some stuff, go to a meeting - so today should be a fairly busy day. That’s always nice because it makes the time go by.
